Research Interests

Active research programs with student researchers continue in the following areas for which Lakehead University is particulary well situated: Proterozoic volcanism and its relation to the genesis of iron formation, tectonics and geochronology. Precambrian ore deposits, especially Cu-Ni-PGE deposits in mafic igneous rocks. Studies on the origin and properties of gem amethyst and opal from the Thunder Bay area.

Other research interests include the petrographic characteristics of terrestrial impact structures, the characterization of iron meteorites and pallasites and the geochemistry and mineralogy of silver-N-Co arsenide ores.
